And now for the next installment of what kids say; We went swimming tonight and Isaiah (6) says all excited; “Mommy, Mommy”. I rush over to see what all the commotion was.

He says to me; “Look I have hair on my arms! I am a grown man now!” I had to laugh.

My kids always keep me on my toes and manage to find a way to make me laugh.

I did something today that I have not done for quite a while. Something so simple, something some others can not skip before they present themselves to the world.

Being a Mom a lot of times I look past my wants and needs and even something so simple as taking care of my appearance can take a back seat to my kids.

As I sat in the mirror I straightened my hair and pinned it up, where as I have been pulling it into a pony tail and I am set to go. I put on a fresh slab of makeup for no reason at all just to do it.

As I took some time to myself this afternoon each time when I would look in the rear view I would catch a glimpse of  myself and was surprised. All though I may be busy and all I really need to take some time to myself for the simple things.

So here I am at the start of a new year. Some people make resolutions but I learned to stop doing that a while ago. I like to leave it open so as time goes on and I need to work on things it is open.

The only thing I want that would make me happy this year is to keep my kids healthy and to keep being the Mom they need.

Yesterday as I was taking Cullen (11) to visit his Great Grandmother on his Father’s side I had a life break through. You know those moments in life when something comes out of your mouth or even a thought crosses your mind that makes the whole world stop if even for a brief second?

Cullen and I were talking about my life before I was a Mom, my younger days. I think it was related to High School since my 15 year reunion was this past weekend (which I did not attend).

He asked me something that I can not recall. I do remember my answer “Becoming a Mom to you kids gave me life, it made my life worth living. My life was nothing before being a Mom”. It was right that second when the last word left my mouth that everything stopped and I smiled as I knew that it was so true.

Being a Mom is not easy but it is worth every minute of it when you look at your children and know that you are their Mom.

Sorry I haven’t been around a lot. I plan to make an effort to start posting more and reconnecting with you all more.

So Christmas went well. I was really worried with the way the economy is and everything that I would be able to pull it off for the kids. It turned out way better then I expected.

It never ceases to amaze me how kids will be drawn to the least expensive gift that you just picked up to even the numbers LOL.
