4 Kids I Must Be Nuts

 Mama Is Mad

Darian (13) came home this evening telling me that he was stopped by some undercover police in town. It appears there were some kids that were yelling into a business down town who ran after because Darian and his friends saw them running. Well here come the good old Taunton PD harrassing my kid. They put him up against the wall like a criminal...got his name...age...and the school he went to. When he tried to speak his peace that he was not involved they told him to shut up or they would bring him down town.
Mind you NO ONE contacted me he is a MINOR. I made sure I spoke with his friend's parents to get the story straight as I am well aware that some times kids do not totaly tell it all but it appears to be all there.
So either we have some incompetent officers in this town or we have sickos running around pretending to be officers which is just as bad.
I was going to march my ass down to the station tonight but good would it have done as it would give them time to get their story straight so instead I typed up a nice email to the Chief of police..the daytime shift commander..our local news station and news papers...city council and our Mayor.
Don't mess with my kids no no no. He's a minor they need to contact me when they go to such extremes.
Here is the email I sent:

Good Evening:
My 13 year old son came home this evening with some disturbing news for me. He informed me that he was stopped by two of your undercover police officers along with several of his friends.
He told me that some other teenagers had ran into a business and yelled causing the police to be called. My son denies being involved in this incident yet he was stopped...questioned...made to give his name...age and the school he attends. These officers did not ask for his parent's contact information.
I asked my son why he did not have the officers call me on his cell phone. He told me that he was told to 'Shut up' any time he tried to explain himself or ask a question. He was also threatened if he said another word that he would be brought downtown to the station.
He does not remember the names he said one was an older black gentleman and his friend informed me that he believed that the other detectives name was Officer Squatto.
My son is 13 years old he is a minor. I should have been contacted regardless...he should not have been threatened in any shape or form.

This disturbs me even further because I moved to this town a few years ago into a very bad known drug house located on 33 Granite Street. I had no knowledge of this before I moved in as I came from miles away for work.
I constantly battled a known gang of drug dealers who controlled this house. I contacted the Taunton Police numerous times to seek help with their threats...intimidation...drug usage and drug dealing as I feared for the safety for my children. The answer constantly from your department was...'You moved into a bad house you need to move'.

Finally my battle came to a dangerous end when these drug dealers known to the Taunton Police as such, broke my kitchen window causing the glass to cut my toddler son. That night I left town for the safety of my children but left my Mother and boyfriend to protect my belongings.
It was during that leave that my children's bedroom was fired upon by these thugs. If my children were home they would have been dead as the bullets pierced the window...their dresser and the mattress.

Mind you no follow ups or arrests were ever made. I made a choice to move my family for their safety. I find it ironic that undercover police men would take their time to threaten minors without their parents knowledge before they would arrest a gang of drug dealers..who took it upon their selves to shoot through the bedroom of that same minor who your officers intimidated.

This whole situation would have been alleviated if the department would have a system in place to contact the parents if and when a situation like this occurs. Specially if they need to obtain the information of a minor.

If not for the department's legal liability then for the children's safety as any nut could walk up to my child saying he is an undercover officer and intimidate him to give personal information away and/or get into a vehicle with them.

I request that you speak to the officer's in the Taunton Police department and contact me as soon as possible with any and all information regarding this incident.

 Anti-Rape Condom

Ok so I posted this on my other blog but it has to do with the kids as well. I would so buy one of these for Geneva when she got older. Why did someone not think of that earlier????

SOUTH AFRICAN ANTI-RAPE CONDOM

The adage "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" has taken on new meaning.

And with the RapeX anti-rape female condom, that pound is coming out of somebody's johnson.

RapeX is a female condom that damages a rapist's penis after penetration with sharp microscopic barbs that hook into the skin.

After the man is incapacitated, this ostensibly gives the woman time to escape. The condom can only be surgically removed (thereby catching the perp redhanded), but supposedly will not cause major damage if removed immediately.
Invented by Sonette Ehlers, a blood technician at the South African Institute for Medical Research, RapeX has been in existence since August 2005 and is to be inserted and worn when a woman is "on a train, working late, going out on a date with someone you don't know too well, going to clubs, or in any situation that you might not feel comfortable or even just not sure."
Rape plays a significant role in the high prevalence of HIV among women in South Africa.
South Africa is a country hardest hit by AIDS, a lot of which is fueled by an epidemic of rape: In a 2006 study of 1,370 South African men, nearly 20% revealed that they had raped a woman (and these are the ones ADMITTING it!)
By the end of 2005, there were five and a half million people living with HIV in South Africa, and almost 1,000 AIDS deaths occurring every day. [Source]

Ehlers, who has been working with rape victims for over 20 years, said that she got the idea from a combination of a young woman raped who said "If only I had teeth down there," and hearing about a young man admitted to a hospital for getting his penis caught in his trouser zipper and the excruciating pain.

RapeX is currently not available commercially, but the Web site says it should be available soon, and would retail for a little more than a regular condom.

I would damn sure buy one of these for my daughter.

Welcome To April Vacation...FUN FUN FUN

Well it is that time of the year here...April Vacation...no more time away from the older boys..no more time away for each of the older boys away from each other. All though one good thing I can sleep late as I do not have to drive Cullen to school in the morning. See with every negative there is a positive
We had a bad storm here in Massachusetts last night the wind was so powerful it was howling all night. I began to feel fear as I heard it whipping outside. When I woke up this morning and turned on the news I thought for sure they would tell us we were in the midst of a hurricane...nope...but it sure did sound..look and felt like one.
This morning we had no power when all the kids woke up. Times like those you see how dependent you are on electricity for everything.
Darian (13) lost his cell phone so him and I spent the morning searching for it. Trying to get him to remember where it may have been last was more like a debate...oh TEENAGERS That debate left me with a kicking migrane. Guess it was a mix of that and the weekends stress. 4 motrin and 2 hot hot hot baths later I am feeling a little better. It's safe he left it at my Dad's this weekend so he'll just have to wait a week to get it.
Darian went to the mall again with his friend from down the street. He comes back with ANOTHER pair of sneakers. The boy has so many sneakers...but the good thing is he wears them all. They say girls are shoe freaks well they never met Darian
Isaiah (4) went downstairs with his friend for a few hours which was a good break for me he actualy ate dinner down there. It is so nice seeing him growing up and making friends like that. He truly looks forward to visiting down there and having the little boy come here to his house as well.
I never cancelled my membership to the Y and their pool is finaly up so I think I may try this again. I am going to sign up Geneva (11 months) and Isaiah for the little swimmer classes and while we're doing that the older ones can hang out...play basketball or swim themselves.
Guess sometimes you just have to give it another try
