Where I live is considered a city but it is a small one. Sure we have a lot of problems that the bigger cities have but it usually controlled usually by itself because I tell you the police in this town suck. They always use the same damn phrase for everything ‘Well if we didn’t see it we can’t do anything about it”.
It was only a matter of time that the underground illegal activities in this city broke the surface as they know just like us law abiding citizens that the police aren’t shit here in this town.
Just this past Sunday not even a mile from my house in the middle of the day, two brothers were shot and killed inside their home. There were two kids in the house at the time 2 and 4 thank goodness who ever did this deed had enough heart not to kill those babies. Now they will have to live with what they saw for the rest of their lives. Just as I expected the city police have no suspects and probably never will.
Then just yesterday afternoon another shooting at a convenience store that is on a main street corner. It’s scary to think people are that ballsy and to think that an innocent person could be caught up in what ever battles these people have with each other.
Another sad fact is that this is the norm in a lot of the cities here in our country. Point blank we are living in dangerous times and there is no safe place anymore.
"everybody get down" and what not. It really scared the crap out of my youngest (oldest wasn't there)
I am really sorry to hear about the crime in your area, and for little ones to have to see it is so sad, and really leaves an impression on them...
Too many guns in too many hands.
I used to complain about sometimes not feeling totally safe in my old home of St. Pete., FL but then I moved up north.....some days after listening to the news up here...I want to move back!
St. Pete was nothing...a lazy beach city...a little cosmopolitan in spots...I felt safe driving....
I'd take it back again...if I could.
There's just not enough love in this world....and while I still fear for my kids...17, 18 and 20,..almost 21....I'm glad they are older...Angie, if my kids were your age I'd be a nervous wreck, all the time...
There is so much that YOUR kids are going to be dealing with that my kids at that age didn't. And you live in a different place than my kids.
And for those that are just now bringing kids into the world...
WOW! It's like the wild west out there....
I don't know if I could do it all over again?
You are a better woman than I.
PS) OH BY THE WAY....HI!
When the mayor selected a new chief of police, she made some moves to trim the budget. And sure enough, the police and the union that represents them were complaining about the cuts.
Every year I hear the police going on about needing more money and more officers. And every year, crime keeps going up. What are these guys doing?
