Cullen (10) is my dependable child. He is always there to help with his younger siblings and thinks about others feelings. Sometimes this is a downfall because he stresses himself out with the responsibilities that he places upon himself.
I tell him all the time to back off and be a kid to let me take care of things because his younger siblings are my kids and that I am the Mother but he still tries his hardest to help.
Yesterday I decided to reward him for all of his hard work. Him and I had a day to ourselves. We went to the movies and then we went to the arcade and bowling. I enjoyed myself very much and got some time to truly explain to him that he can not be doing that all the time, that it is great to be helpful but there is a line where his duties end and my duties are.
We had so much fun more so at the arcade and bowling. I can not tell you the last time I bowled. Then the arcade let me tell you we combined our tickets and we ended up with 1500. We got something for all of his siblings and himself with them.
All though it is hard spending one on one time with 4 kids and one of me I realize how important it is to do this to make each child feel special and know that Mom loves them as an individual as a part of our family.
I think what you are doing as a parent is commendable.
You sound like a cool mom Angie...keep rockin' it!
Fellow parent of 4....

I'm glad to see you went out with Cullen and had a good time with him. I hope he's doing well in school and even getting to spend time with his dad. How are the other kiddos doing? No updates on baby girl? I can't wait for Myung 2 get that big! Laterz
Like I said, I apologized and she said it was ok and that I was still the coolest mother in the world etc...
But deep down...I know she still resents things being the way they were...
All I can tell her is....WAIT UNTIL YOU HAVE KIDS OF YOUR OWN!!!
We parents are always f*cking something up with our kids...it's our JOB!!! I mean come on, didn't OUR parents mess with our heads to varying degrees?
You take care Miss Angie
