4 Kids I Must Be Nuts

My Big Boy - Mommy Cries
Back to Full Blog

Isaiah (5) is growing up right in front of me. I registered him for Kindergarten this morning. It didn’t hit me until we were leaving the building as I got all mushy and teary eyed that my baby is growing up.

My older sons pitched a fit when they had to go to school and even though it was a pain to drag them in there it made me feel just that little bit of good knowing they still felt attached to me.

Isaiah on the other hand is all ready for it and doesn’t even want me to drive him the first day because he wants to go on the bus.

I swear once they hit the school age time flies by like nothing. Geez in like 3 years my oldest will be an adult. arghhhhh

Cut it out. Admitting that they are getting older is like admitting your own mortality. Mine are at 8 and 12 now and I don't know how the hell that happened! How are they getting older and I'm not?

I am the mother of 12 children and have 7 grown children. My youngest is 10 1/2 years old and I am facing the day when they will all be out of the nest. I'm not looking forward to that in some ways but in others I am. I'm trying to start others interests now so when that day comes I will be too busy to feel lonely without any kids in the house. If you think your crazy just look at me!

I know the feeling and here in about 2 more years I get to do it again for the last time when Skyler will start kindergarden and this year Anthony goes into 2nd grade...Here is the biggest shocker for me -- Branden, my oldest, will graduate hopefully, this year!! He is a Senior and Billy is a Junior!!!

Did someone one say school bus? You think this one is bad wait until your youngest starts school. Of course one way to prevent that is to never stop having kids?
